I went down to Nokia Care and they told me that it might be the sensor. They need my phone for 3-4 weeks wtf. I can't leave my phone there for the holidays. I'll give it to them on January.

I got a 635 two weeks ago, noticed thick people horizontal bands across some of my photos. Took it back, got it exchanged yesterday and new unit does the same. No scratches, so not sure if same issue as OP but still very annoying
