Camera incredibly slow. Update soon?

Try settings - swipe - photos & videos - scroll - reset camera. See if that helps after a reboot.

I had two 822's and the first shot was really slow on both. The camera is capable, but the slow speed makes it difficult to get a good shot, especially when you're taking pictures of a kid.

It's more of a software bug.. The camera really isn't that slow. The very first time you launch the camera and take a picture, it is mega slow. Take that second picture and it seems normal. Was hoping it got fixed with the last update but it did not. I'll try the reset though.. Didn't know about that.

I wish I would have known that when I had an 822. A faster first shot would have been nice.

The reset fix is not permanent. It has returned to the slow first shot. I don't know if it's after a reboot or what.
