Camera Pictures Too Dark?

Everytime I take a picture at my house (was taking pictures of my dog), the background always comes out dark.

I feel like the dual-led flash is gone when the camera takes the picture.

Try without the flash?
Flash tends to make background dark compared to foreground.

Yeah, I would turn off flash, and play with some of the ISO/Exposure settings instead.

Yeah, I took some pics out at the soccer fields today and its overcast but bright and to get shots to turn out I had to adjust the exposure +1.5
