Can I no longer update due to storage limitations?

The latest update .953 tries to install, but it won't install due to needing '622.47Mb of space to download'. It directs me to storage to make room.

In storage on 'this device' there is nothing left to either move or uninstall even though there are apps like Groove and Xbox that I never use.

On 'storage usage', 'this device': it reads on 'temporary tiles' that there are 1.26GB of 'pending updates and preview builds'.

So how do I get it to install .953 from here as already other apps won't update due to storage constraints as well.

i have only 8MB of storage on the 640XL, but it seems to install fine for some.

It already has an SD card, but there is nothing left on the device memory left to install on the SD or uninstall.

There is too much stuff that Microsoft wants locked up on the device memory, rather than shifted to SD.

I think you need root access somehow to de-install factory pre-set apps on the device's memory.

But hopefully there is a simpler solution.

During a wireless update, you might see a message that says the update can't be installed because it needs more space than you have on your device. If you see this message, there are a few ways you can update your device:
Plug your device into your computer and update using iTunes.
Manually remove content from your device and try to update again.

Had same problem on my 550. A good man on mspu suggested i even remove my email accounts after removing every possible item (pics, song, video, apps, maps, etc) from the phone storage. It worked for me once and i managed to update but now i have another update and even removing email won't give me enough space. Try it out it may work for you. All the best !

Sorry, did u say itunes? For updating windows phone? I am assuming you were referring to Windows Device Recovery Tool, and may be due to some distraction u wrote itunes.
