Can I shrink the size of a photo before sending it?

MMS and huge images / image compression

A photo I want to text is 3MB - is there a way to limit/shrink the size of a photo if it's a certain size, before sending.. or does it have to be done manually?

That's just as much 'work' as manually compressing it though. There's no way to auto -compress through the texting app? If I'm not mistaken there's androids that have that capability.
