Can I start the update to 10 from a live usb with Ubuntu?

Hi, my pc shut down while updating to 10, and I can't recover 7. Now I'm on a live version of Lubuntu, can I start the update frome here, or recover 7 without losing data?

Start update, no, recover, no, but you can create a Windows installation disc/USB drive from Ubuntu, and then use it to fix Windows. While you are still on Ubuntu live session, it's better to plug another external HDD and backup important data first.
