Can I upgrade to black only?

can I upgrade to black only

after pretty much ruining my phone by upgrading to cyan I have 2 questions.
1. can I back off to black again, if so then how.
2. I have another windows 8 phone that has been reset back to factory settings, can I update it to just black and stop there.

1. First, factory reset your device, it can fix many issues that is caused by an upgrade. Also since downgrading erases your device anyway.

2. Two, a downgrade is indeed possible.
Also, I believe upgrades are done release by release, so you can upgrade and stop upgrading at 8.0 U 3/Lumia Black and not continue.

But I still recommend the upgrade.

The cyan update blew up the Bluetooth functions between my hearing aids and the phone when I have to have so it's back to black if that's even possible.

The cyan upgrade messed up the functions between my hearing aids and the phone. I have to have these functions to even use a phone.

1. First, factory reset your device, it can fix many issues that is caused by an upgrade. Also since downgrading erases your device anyway.

I reset the phone but after a couple of early upgrades, it want's to do cyan, black is not even an option. any suggestions. I also have another lumia 922 that has never been upgraded to cyan, the guys at the phone store reset it back to factory and now it only wants to do cyan after 2 or 3 updates.
