Change LTE Bands Lumia 920

I have a Lumia 920 (International RM-821), this version does not support AWS (UMTS band 4 2100/1700 MHz) , Can I use other version downloaded with Navifirm, change to RM-820 firmware and enable new bands? Maybe using the Rogers version?

Re: Change LTE Bands Lumia 920

Flashing different firmware is risky, even for the same variant but switching regions... More so when switching variants.

Changing the Firmware will not give you a radio frequency that is physically absent from the hardware.

The RM-821 is a Euro style radio equipped device. It is doubtful the 1700 AWS radio is onboard and just hidden. The RM-820 would have a better chance of 3G 1700 being hidden.

Before you do anything drastic, see if you can access Field Menu by dialing ##3282#. If you can, follow the example of how to enable 1700 AWS that is given here: http://forums.windowscentral.com/no...-1520-t-mobile-aws-3g-hspa-band-4-1700-a.html

Re: Change LTE Bands Lumia 920

as he said, changing the ROM won't necessarily change LTE support.

actually, I have an RM-820 Lumia 920 which I flashed to the RM-821 ROM some time ago.
It worked great (it was for updates, LTE bands didnt change) until Lumia Cyan which had the unfortunate side effect of breaking LTE. (there was a fix, but not a simple one, fortunately i don't care for LTE so much, and ironically it finally fixed my broken tethering)
