Can the 520 use the pro camera app

Pro no. I would expect smartcam to load.

You might get pro to install using one of those proxy store links that permit any app for any phone to be installed.

I downloaded ProCam using the proxy method and it works fine on my 521 after the amber update, so I assume it will work on the 520. Gives me easy access to manual controls for exposure, ISO, focus etc.
