Can the clipboard be charged individually?

When detached from the keyboard base, can the clipboard be charged? It seems that the base of the clipboard has a Surface charging port. Not sure...

I ask this because sometimes I may want to carry the clipboard only for more portability.

One more further question: suppose the clipboard battery level is 50% and it is attached to the keyboard again. Will it be charged to re-gain battery level? (i.e. taking up power from the keyboard's battery then).

Yes, it can. I tested this out at the store. The middle port for connecting to the keyboard is a charger port.

No idea on the recharging from the base/keyboard though. I'm going to guess not though.

My guess is same as you, as there will be significant power loss when charging from one battery to another.

The SB uses a 65 watt charger, the SP3 and SP4 use a 32 or 34 watt charger. 65 watt should be enough to charge both batteries at the same time when the clipboard is attached to the keyboard. I think that was the question.

Saw on a video review that no, the base batteries cannot charge the Clipboard.
