Re: can we install windows phone 10 build 10149 on our main device ?

You can. But the question is if you should. Build 10149 may be faster and indeed more stable than its predecessors, but being a technical preview there still are risks. That fewer, so far, are experiencing serious issues doesn't mean that issues won't come later on, either in this build or going from this build to whatever OS version.

Have a look around the forums, e.g. in this 10149 Bugs Thread and this 1520 "Gone Bad" with the 10149.

I'd rather be consistent with Microsoft's advise on not installing technical builds on one's main device.

Asking if you can or should is a good indicator in and of itself that you should not...

I've installed it on my main device, so far no problem. It's lot smoother than all preview builds till now....
Same here with my 1520... I only have few people for contact so I upgraded and did a hard reset without backing up to have a clean, smooth experience.

I have it up and running on 512MB device and its just fine as my daily driver.

But I am not a heavy user; all i do with my phone is sms/MMS/mobile phone calls/GymAce app, outlook mail/calendar, facebook app, camera to take photos and videos, onedrive to upload and cortana to follow daily interests. Sometimes I also use Edge.

So for me, it works fine, almost as good as 8.1. I just had to turn off outlook as a background process cause it was draining my battery.

It works fine on my 1320 but because of the pin bug (lock screen) I did hard reset and didn't selected any previous backup(clean install)it works very well it's stable as wp8.1...current build is much more bug free than previous builds
