Can you receive GDR2 on any carrier, even those not listed on Nokia's availability page?

I'm a little confused on how the GDR2 update gets pushed down to different networks. I'm in the UK and thinking of getting a Lumia 920 Sim Free, so it's completely unbranded and unlocked. I'll then put my Virgin UK Sim in it (I'm on one of those 30 day rolling Sims). However, Virgin UK have never sold the 920 (and others such as 820) to my knowledge. Looking on the Nokia availability page, Virgin are not listed for the 920, 820, and 720, so does this mean that if you are running a different network than the ones listed on Nokia's update page, you won't get the update? Or are the updates for Virgin pushed down from EE, as Virgin use their network (MVNO). If somebody could clear this up for me that would be great

Carrier unlock? If thats what you are asking you'll still be getting thge carrier variant. If you can interop unlock you can get any 925 GDR update.

it all depends what ROM you have installed on the device ( go to - settings - extra-info - and check Manufacturer name and mobile operator) .

Some of my friends had Country Variant ROM on their phones ie not carrier specific , while others were Carrier specific handsets . Some of the carrier specific models got amber update quicker then Country Variant . So its hard to tell.
