Can you sideload Pokemon Go apk file to wp10?

I have read a lot of articles on people enabling the developer mode and then via usb cable and some software sideload apk files. I have a Lumia 950xl, all the necessary software and the POKEMON GO apk file. I lost my usb cable and would just like to know if someone has tried to do it, before i buy the cable for no reason.
