can you unlock the 920 like the iphone?

so the 920 has been out for a while now. i understand it's not as popular as the iphone but i thought i would see something by now.

what is the deal? is it because the windows 8 os is still new? is it possible to unlock it without dealing with att?

anybody receive the unlock code form att? if so, what is the process?

AT&T are the ones responsible, they won't give out any unlock codes because they have 6 months of exclusivity. Some people have tried third party unlocking services only to find out that the website was actually unable to unlock the phone. I'm pretty sure that right now there's no way to unlock the phone if it's locked to AT&T.

i was afraid of that. i really wanted to use my 920 when i go visit some friends over seas...
