Canadian experience report

whatsapp - yes, doesn't really warm up for me
vevo - no, I'll give this a try
photos - yes, played with the Nokia suite of apps a lot, refocus, reframe, storyteller, photo beamer, the unit does get warm, but doesn't seem excessive.

Tried vevo, seems to warm up more than watching youtube on MetroTube, but still not that hot.

Got my Lumia 930 today,
Dat screen, and the build quality seems top notch, not experiencing any imperfections or loosiness.
Im on Telus so no LTE. The 3G connection shows up as H and H+ on my device. I think I have a model from France or something, it came with a bunch of French apps and a French manual. Funny thing, I went to the telus store to get a microsim, the sales rep checked the IMEI on her IMEI checker program and the phone apparently is incompatible with the network.....
I was sure it works so I borrowed a microsim from her and of course, it works and recognizes the cellular signal.

It should, wherever Bell has LTE on 2600 MHz spectrum. I remember a member on these forums said he was getting LTE speeds.

I ordered from Expansys. My friend order a 930 also and didn't get the charging plate. Mine was from the UK and his from France. I believe the wireless charging plate only comes from the UK

Charging plate included or not, does the phone have the internals for it? In other words can a charging plate be bought to work with the phone or is it missing the guts too?

Thanks.

I believe the 930 has wireless charging built in.
just need a Qi plate and your good to go.

Yes, that's true, you don't need extra accessories for that - just the charging plate (based on my experiences I'd strongly recommend DT-900).

Rogers and Bell have band 7 (2600mhz) capability in addition to band 4 (1700/2100)

Is this true across Canada? I was under the impression that Rogers and Bell only offer Band 7 in select areas (like Toronto and a few other Ontario cities). Please correct me if I am wrong!

I'm also on Telus and considering picking up the 930. How much slower are you finding data/downloading speed without LTE. Thanks.

Oops didn't see this thread earlier, lets add my phone

The box says RM-1045 / Nokia 930 CV LTAU1

LTE 1, 3, 7, 8, 20
WCDMA 1, 2, 5, 8

I see LTE when connected to LTE.

For sure the LTE at 2600 is not as strong as the LTE on my Lumia 920 at 2100. I wish for 700 but I couldn't wait anymore. I wanted a new phone!!!

Otherwise I'm really happy. Call quality I find better with the 930 compared to 920.
