Whenever I try to search for bluetooth devices I get this message. Does any one know how to solve this problem?

mine did the same thing, had to hard reboot a couple of times to get it back

Can you post instructions on how to do that? I am having this problem too and it is MADDENING!!

Do you have "Interop Tools (Preview)" in your phone?

If you don't have you can download it from this site: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73608163&postcount=1006

Installation instruction has been given here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...app-interop-tools-versatile-registry-t3445271

Before installing keep your phone in "Developer mode" you can find it here Update & Security--->For Developers.

After successful installation open the app and select "This Device" from drop down menu. It will be the 2nd option don't select 1st option.

Select "Registry Browser" from side menu and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\bthserv

Change "Start" key value from 2 to 3. Apply and restart your phone.

Any chance there is an easier solution?

Side note, is the Interop Tool similar to this:
https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-phone-internals-23-released-unlocks-bootloader-any-lumia

This method is infact the simpler way, other way is to perform hard reset & hope that hard reset solves your problem. Performing hard reset will erase everything including your data & apps.

And coming to that software which you've mentioned it an completely different software used for completely different operation.

You can install "Interop Tools" app it is completely safe & won't harm your phone (unless you mess up Windows 10 Mobile's registry).
