Can't install apps on new 521

Hello,

I've switched from a Verizon 928 to a T-Mobile 521. When I got to purchase history on the Windows Phone store, it says that all my downloaded apps are "App is not available in this region". I had to do a factory reset to get the "Find My Phone and allow push notifications" checkbox to appear, but the setting is checked and I still get the same message from the Windows phone store. Any ideas? windowsphone.com still refers to my phone as a Nokia 928, but says that it's a 521. Is it because the old phone isn't fully deactivated, or something?

Windowsphone.com shows that I have two phones a Nokia Lumia 928, called Lumia 928 and a Nokia Lumia 521, also called Nokia 928. I'm thinking the fact that I have two phones associated with my account is making it think all the apps that I've installed (some of which I paid for) are unavailable. By the way I've also looked at my Nokia Lumia 928 in windowsphone.com and it says that all the apps are "App is not available in this region" for all its apps as well

Are you looking at apps in your region? If you're in the US, you can't install apps from, let's say, French app store.

I just did. Only the 521 shows up now. For some reason it's now called Nokia 521. It still says "App is not available in this region" for all its apps. The phone's region is English US.

I just logged into the Wallet app for the first time on my 521. Its showing two accounts, a T-mobile account and my existing Microsoft account. Maybe this is part of my problem? I used the Microsoft account for purchases on my 928.

I would be curious as to where you are at, if it's saying it's because of your location. I think the reason, without knowing what apps your trying to install, is that the 521 has a smaller processor then the 928, and smaller screen resolution. some app developers don't support the smaller processor phones, so it won't be available to the 521.

the name of the phone usually carries over from your previous phone if you choose to restore the phone from a previous phone setting. so if you called your last phone "lumia cool cat 928", the next phone would be called "lumia cool cat 928". you can rename the 521 by plugging it into a pc via USB and name it from the pc(most annoying way to have to rename a device ever). this probably isn't the problem, though. windowsphone store will know that your phone is a 521.

one option would be to reset your phone, and instead of restoring from a previous version, start clean, and see what happens...
