Can't power-off while charging battery

My reasons why I would like to be able to power the phone off when charging:
Firstly, any phone will charge much faster when not switched on while charging. Secondly, if I charge my phone overnight and it is placed next to my bed (I use it as an alarm clock), there is a completely un-necessary dose of radiation that I am exposed to and would like to have a choice to avoid.

The radiation across the room will have zero effect. If you understand types of radiation and exposure risk scales you would know that. As far as being on most chargers and batterries these days caey voltage depending on facters such as temp, battery level and other factors so must be on. If it is charging via qi it has to be on because the charger and phone communicate to adjust the charge rate.

I don't mind charging my Lumia 520 in airplane mode, but it would be nice if you could switch off while charging.

I'm happy to see my phone breathing again when i plug it. I had a lumia 800 he passed away 1 year ago
