Can't receive pictures from iphone

For some reason when my friend with an Iphone tries to send me a pic I get this message

"One or more of the message components has been deleted by MMS adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your handset"

any idea why?

iPhone doesn't support Bluetooth pictures transfer.

If you're talking about MMS (not iMessage) then it should work.
Try to contact Customer Support of your Carrier because sometimes they keep DISABLED the MMS service until costumer to have requested to ENABLE it.
