Can't revert back to 8.1 from 10 preview

I've downloaded the windows recovery toolkit. It'll let me download the firmware (1.6gb roughly) but then it tells me that it can't find my phone after it finishes the download.
I made the mistake of putting the tech preview on my main driver and my battery is dying ridiculously fast (among other instabilities)...

Anybody else ran into this and resolved it?

Restart your computer, try again, keep trying five more times, then try the Nokia Recovery Tool, see if you get better results from that.

It's happened to me too, this is what I had to do to get back to 8.1 due to the same issue your having (though, for me, it was the previous build that made me go back, the one before that was manageable, oddly).

Same thing was happening to me. My phone stopped booting all together with Win10. Plugged into the recovery tool and it wasn't recognized because my phone kept restarting. Hold power and vol down until the phone vibrates while the recovery tool is searching for it. I had to do it once to get started, and then once again after the software was downloaded and was ready to install. Leave your phone plugged in the whole time, just do the restart like this when the recovery tool can't find it.

Guys help me, I have similar problem
As you can see, my phone is recognized my WPRT

but after that it is stucked at this step


I tried everything, changing usb ports, cables, reinstalling everything that has with nokia, reinstalling WPRT, but nothing

this is my first time with windows 10, I thouhgt it is going to be much stable build comparing to previous one, and yes, I am aware of that, this is technical preview and it is not for daily usage, but I didn?t know that I would have this problem with rollback to WP8.1

yes i waited but for max 30 minutes, i didn?t know it can took hours, huh

I had the same problem. I did a software phone reset. .and then when it was done, I immediately used the recovery software and that worked for me

Performs factory reset then try again with Windows Phone Recovery Tool. Just do not restore backup after factory reset, even no need for sign in.

yes, i?v done this right after installed windows 10, but i guess i have to do this again

I figure out what is the problem, and usb port is broken, seems i have to replace usb port
