Can't send or receive pictures on carrier unlocked phone

My service is from T-Mobile and I just unlocked an AT&T Nokia Lumia 900. My phone plan with T-Mobile includes unlimited texting but no data. I was able to send and receive picture messages on my old T-Mobile phone but after switching to the Nokia Lumia 900 I can't seem to do either. I've been reading up on some other posts and it seems that data and picture messaging go hand in hand but I've never had that issue with my old T-Mobile phone. Can someone shed some light and possibly provide some alternatives?

You will need a data plan and then the APN for MMS with T-Mobile. MMS requires data. Texting alone will not allow sending/receiving media.

Dangit, that's what I thought. It's upsetting that I was able to send and receive pictures without data on my old crappy phone but I can't on a newer phone. Thanks a lot for your help!

I had the same problem. I downloaded the "Network Setup" app made by Nokia. It automatically fixed the settings for me, and now I can send & receive picture messages.

Network setup will work, but it still requires a data plan.
