Cant sync wirelessly with zune WP 7.8

Hello I cant synchronize my WP 7.8 with zune wirelessly ( C00D07C9 ) . I think it is because of Norton through I didn't manage to fix it. any help?

I have had no many nightmarish problems with Norton since it decided to become more prominent on the desktop rather than sit in the background and do its job. Since you generally cannot put Norton offline while you test, try completely uninstalling Norton. Install a fresh copy of Zune and try again. If it works out, try using a better solution for anti virus with something like Avast, (my personal favorite).

To me it sounds like your firewall (Norton, Windows or otherwise), or even your router is not allowing the 2-way conversation. Easiest/first to do, is just make sure Zune is allowed a pass through on the firewall, if no workey, check the router. I have Norton, use Windows firewall, and an old router, but then, I'm on XP still.

well I added zune to Norton firewall but it didn't help, I don't think there is any problem with router...

I had to enable the pass through on mine. Just saying

I don't know I tried it only after updates. btw how did you enable it? what router do you have?

I entered the IP for the router into IE from the PC. Took me to the settings menus. Its an OOOOOOLD Motorola DSL modem.

I got fed up with the Wireless Sync not working when changing Firewall settings etc. so all I did was disable WiFi on my phone, re-enable it and connect back to the Access Point all with the phone still connected to my pc (not sure if that makes a difference).

Then I went to set up wireless sync again and it worked flawlessly! The sync must assume that you haven't set up wifi yet on your phone or something Anyway this worked just fine for me

If that doesn't work then the only other thing I did (this may have fixed it too) was go to Start > Search programs and files > Windows Firewall with Advanced Security > Inbound Rules (Tab on the left) > Scroll down to where all the Zune rules are (Network Sharing Service rules) > click the first "Network Sharing Service" entry then hold ctrl+shift and click on the last entry > right click and finally click on Enable Rule. Then restart Zune and Wireless Sync should work

Hey, does the phone always HAVE TO be on a charger in order for the wireless sync to work? Isn't that sort of pointless? It's not really wireless then either.

I can get the wireless sync to work if the phone is on a charger, but as soon as I take it off, the connection just vanishes from Zune.

It needs to be plugged in, on WiFi, and not "in use". Those are the req's from Zune. Is what it is
