Changing between operators

As of yesterday, November 14, 2011, my Samsung is unlocked. I no longer HAVE to stay with 3 Sweden. The phone recognises Tele2 when I insert that sim card. But I am having problem with gettingconnected to the internet and probably also receiving and sending text and video messages. My question is; the sim card obviously does not come with a universal setting how to get to the internet or how to receive or sen messages. It has to be set either automatically or manually. Does that mean that if I change from one operator to the next I have to reconfigure every time I change sim cards or is there some sort of intelligent memory that remembers my settings for Tele2 as well as for 3 Sweden? That I only have to do it once? The guides/manually setting/mobile setting SMS and MMS at Tele2 does not list the Omnia 7, neither as Omnia 7 nor as GT-I8700. That might of course be an indication that it is not possible to use Tele2 for internet traffic or sending and receiving messages.
I welcome general thoughts but also those that have experiences from two different operators and most welcome are Swedes that either use tele2 or switch between two or more operators (domestic and foreign for example)

Not sure, but I thought the Samsung App Hub had an app to configure your network settings. That might help with you SIM switching. I know HTC has an app like this in their Hub.

Sent from my HTC Surround using Board Express

To add to this, I am sure I read that Samsung added a connection setting application.

Yes you'll find the app in the Samsung Zone perbear, it's called 'Network Profile' :)

It gives you a list of Mobile networks and you just select what you need.

Locked phones do not let you select another network so the app won't do anything.

I used it to try an Orange SIM in my Omnia to see if it worked and it worked fine.

Back on a locked 3 UK phone again so the app once again doesn't do anything.

Thanks to all. Now I would very much know WHY does not my picture show? It is both in the Signature and the profile.

I feel very stupid right now, but my Samsung phoned does not have a Samsung hub (or it has been erased by 3 or I am not aware that it is there). Setting is the only place where I see NETWORK. Could you show me where I find it?

Not sure why you don't have a Samsung Zone, something not quite right there.

Should be top of the list when you hit the marketplace tile.

If you do a search in the marketplace for Samsung, it should show there for you perbear. (Network Profile)

It does for me anyway.

Thanks once again, TheWeeBear. Yes I found Samsung Zone when I pressed the Market hub. Network Profile was NOT at the top when I press Samsung Zone (which I until now had mistaken for just a heading) but when I scrolled down I saw it and installed it and after that I have pinned it to the start screen. No word from Big -D5 yet.

Aw that's good perbear, hope it helped with your problems.

I meant that the Zamsung Zone should be top of the list LOL, no matter, you got it in the end. :)

Hopefully Big D5 get's back to you soon about your strange forum problem. :)
