Clean Install of windows 10 pro on Surface Pro 3

I've had syncing issues between my surface and my desktop/phone running windows 10.

I'm planning to do a full fresh install of 10 rather than the restore to factory where it'll go back to 8.1 and upgrade...

is it just a case of making a win 10 bootable usb install stick and wiping everything and starting again?

how do i get the key or is it stored in the hardware?

Click the link provided in the Recovery page in settings. Its the last thing on the page and it links to a website to download a tool for a fresh install of Windows.

Edit: Also, yes, the key should be stored with the machine. I can't recall if it'll disable bitlocker for you though, so you may have to get the bitlocker key from OneDrive. It'll let you know if you need to do this (and since its in OneDrive, you don't *have* to get the key first).

Also, remember to select 'recover from a drive', or else it will fail. It took me forever to accidently figure this out (or I should have RTFI more closely).
