You need special sort of USB-A to USB-C cable support peer -to-peer sync instead of regular ones, most likely those don't exist, you might need to make one yourself, however I have no idea how myself. And regular usb-A to USB -C cables are all host-to-client as USB-A always act as host..What is function with your Dell? Can you use it a hub for all kind of devices?
Tried connecting my surface pro 3 to the display dock, USB to USB-C cable. Surface does recognizes the dock, however gives the error I'm using the wrong cable.
