Continuum Wired Dock and Wifi

I have an alcatel idol 4s wired through a windows hd-500 display dock. It connects and works great but when the phone is on wifi, the internet connection will stop working after a minute or two. It doesn't go back to 4g and the only way to fix it is to put on airplane mode and then turn it back off. Otherwise, I just keep getting a "this page can't be found".

Is this a bug or am I messing up a setting. I thought it was only when the phone's screen went to sleep but it looks like it's happening anyways even when I touch the screen every 20 seconds or so.

Any help would be great. Thanks

My Idol 4S doesn't seem to have that issue.
