Sorry, I meant how does Cortana generate these answers.....I was thinking in Arabic :S

Some are pre-written/scripted (I.e: the Steve Ballmer, Bill Gates responses, the joke responses, etc.). But everything else, Cortana analyzes your question, and searches your phone and/or Bing to fulfill your request.

A bunch of advanced algorithms and very well developed software is at work here, as well as some heavy lifting being done by Microsoft's servers.

how to get the 8.1 emulator !!

Just Bing Windows Phone 8 emulator, and look for a result that links to Microsoft. I found a download link, downloaded Visual Studio Express and then a few minutes later, I was playing with the emulator.

I can post more detailed instructions later, if need-be.

I love the surface answer, it's very well found!
Though, I tried some of these in my emulator and it's not answering, it's opening the bing search every time... I hope it's not an "outside USA" limitation!!!

I like that she's sassy but not dickish. And apparently the best laptop is a Macbook Air running bootcamp.

Well, you do have to admit it's some gorgeous hardware, but being held back by a lackluster operating system. Much akin to the HTC One.
