Cortana not working (just upgraded to offical windows 10)

Hello PC users,
I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1.
I have an HP envy x360 laptop.
Issue is that Cortana is unable to catch my voice or hear what I am saying.
I suspected a microphone issue but my inbuilt microphone in my laptop works fine.
My friend has the same laptop n her cortana works just fine, it responds and everything, but mine does not talk. It does say listening but nothing seems to work
I have reseted it and no luck

I'm having the same issue. Laptop microphone works fine for everything but Cortana. HP Envy laptop as well...

Same trouble here!! I Installed windows 10 yesterday and downloaded English(UK) Language pack and Cortana says not available in this region. Just installed Windows 10 on my Partners Laptop and it all works fine.

Confused!!

Mine is a Dell Inspiron 17R SE my Partners is a HP something or another!

Same here, I thought it was a problem with the drivers for my RealSense camera but with the onboard audio still won't work.
The next thing I'll try is uninstalling the ASIO 4 ALL driver thing.

Edit: The ASIO4ALL driver is not guilty of this, it doesn't show as activated for this mic, and it doesn't work with any audio source.
But at one time it did fix itself for a while, then it went back to not working.
