Cortina won't work from lock screen

Hi, I'm not in the US but have changed my settings to enable Cortana, and it works as normal when the phone is unlocked. However it won't work from the lock screen. I have checked that the work above lock check box is checked and still can't figure it out.

Any ideas?

When the phone is locked you have to hold the search button to get her to activate.

Thanks but I tried that. Slightly stuck and confused...trying to avoid a hard reset, any other ideas welcome!
