Could Windows 10 Mobile have killed screen?

So this is a bit of a far out question but I've tried Windows 10 Mobile build 10563 two weeks ago and after maybe 5 minutes, upon reboot, the vertical fifth of my screen at the bottom became full of blue and white lines. I tried restoring it to WP8.1 but that didn't do it. I had to buy another screen.

Wednesday I get that new screen, I put it in and everything seemed nice. Yesterday I installed build 10581 and again everything seems ok. But then I notice a dead pixel at the top left of the screen. Again I tried going back to WP8.1 but that didn't fix it. I also tried some apps that claim to fix dead pixels (I was very doubtful) and it didn't help.

So now I'm left wondering: could Windows 10 Mobile be responsible for these problems or am I just unlucky?

I'm pretty sure it's hardware. If possible try another screen and stay on 8.1 for a while.

Btw dead pixel fixing apps usually find the pixels only

That's what I think also but I have to admit it seems to have helped a bit. Those apps just flash a bunch of colors to "wake up" the dead pixel. Apparently it worked for some users.

Wouldn't a higher brightness help?
