I'm trying to figure out if I have a bad CR-200, or if this is normal behavior. I have 2 Lumia 928's. I know those are not the intended device for this charger, but I thought the only problem was supposed to be that the clamp touches the camera button. I don't have an issue with that -- as long as you just gently close the clamp, it doesn't push the camera button. And that gentle hold is more than enough to secure the phone even driving down the bumpy dirt roads where I live.
However, for both phones, they only charge sometimes. If I turn the phone in the CR-200, so the right side is pulled a bit away from the back, it always works, but if I push it in all the way so it's touching the back evenly across the whole back surface (the only way a phone naturally sits in the CR-200), it has about a 50:50 chance of charging at best. It doesn't seem to change anything if the phone in the charger has a full charge or not. About half the time, the green light at the bottom turns off and the device indicates it's not charging.
Has anyone else noticed this, or should I replace it right away while it's still new enough I can return it? Any reason to think this is related to the 928's and not the CR-200? If it's a compatibility problem, I should return and not replace or decide to live with it. If it's just a bad unit, I should get it replaced.
I use several other wireless charges including the DT-900, DT-910, and some generic Qi charger from another company. All of those work fine. I only have this issue with the CR-200.
Thanks for any help,
Colin
