Customize Start Screen from PC?

Customizing the start screen can be a time consuming task - does anyone know of a way to customize the start screen from your PC? i.e. connecting to the PC and using your mouse and a dev or custom tool? Perhaps hacking a config file or something? Thanks!

I do not believe such a thing is possible.

Boo! I hate wasting time with slow UI's when you need to do bulk work. Must find a hack...
