Cyan Lumia 920 Official

Is anyone else understanding that the 920 is exclusive to AT&T alltogether? If so, I'm extremely dissapointed. WP needs verizon to get big

That's how I interpret it from their press release

?Exclusive to our customers and featuring unique innovations in imaging technology, wireless charging and a bright, sensitive display ? all on the nation?s largest 4G network ? the Lumia 920 will be one of the hottest phones for the holidays,? said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president ? Devices and Developer Services, AT&T Mobility.

AT&T to Add Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 to Fall Lineup | AT&T

I am thinking there is some miscommunication here with the exclusivity. Some sites are saying it's the specific color lineup that's exclusive while others are saying the 920 period is.

I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T had at least a small exclusivity window.

Elop mentioned that there was trouble getting carriers to promote the phones in the UK when there wasn't any exclusivity. Carriers will spend more ad dollars promoting a phone that only they have.

My guess is that AT&T has it exclusively for 3 months. They promote the heck of it it. Then Verizon gets it as the 922 with an extra exclusive color and maybe something else unique, like a 64 GB version.

I can't wait 3 months for the 920 to come to Verizon if that does end up being the case. I've been using a 4 year old flip phone for 2 months since I sold my Galaxy Nexus in anticipation of the new WP8 devices. I was planning on giving Nokia my money but it looks like I'll have to go with the 8X if there truly is a period of exclusivity.

I could be completely wrong. Hopefully Nokia has found a way to get carriers to actually promote the phones even if they aren't exclusive. That sounds tough to do though.

Maybe they'll change the name to 922 and offer it to Verizon in November? Crappy luck for Verizon customers if that isn't the case. Luckily AT&T is the best in my area so I've kept them around all these years. I'll have to settle with red presumably since gray was left out of the press release :(

This is definitely exciting news!

Even though I'm getting red, I'm excited to tell people the color options... Red, Yellow, Cyan, Black, and White... GREAT choices all around!

Best specs. Best customization. Best CHOICE! Nokia Lumia.

The Verge mentioned that yellow and cyan will only be available through online orders. Yet, the press release doesn't mention that breakdown at all. Seems stupid that the 'iconic' color they're trying to promote with the yellow would only be available online...

Because financial stuff - I'm getting my new phone through Best Buy which leaves me only with red, black, and white according to The Verge...
