I have a Hp touchpad on which I replaced WEBOS with Android, via Cyanogenmod. Is it possible to buy a Android Handset, and load Windows phone on it? Since no flagships for Windows, and tons of flagship options for Android, I would love to use Windows software on their hardware...

I recall an article that I think Sam wrote saying it was gonna be possible with 8.1

Just to clarify, Windows Phone 8.1 is adding support for Snapdragon 200, 400 and 400 LTE Android handsets and is only for OEMs.

That is for OEM's to be able to more easily convert their existing Android handsets to run Windows Phone. (like how HTC has its One M8 for Windows, which is identical to the Android M8) Reducing the barriers to releasing a WP handset.

The assertions made are not true in that article, or at least, are now false.

Despite identicality, there has been no success on the front of flashing an Android M8 to Windows Phone.

Sorry.
