Dan; will Nokia ever make a Windows phone again?

I know you're trying to get an opinion from Dan but my thoughts would be this:

Not likely, unless there's a compelling reason to.

Reasons:

Current state of WP/WM
- less than 1% market share and dropping
- No assurances from MS
- App developers leaving

Nokia (HMD) current plan is to get into the budget phone area using their name. Keeping a vanilla Android experience and having a good update cycle to make it appealing.

They have plans to release a flagship phone as well.

If you really want to know their plans best to ask HMD.

Yangstax. If that leak is the real thing and it does get a Windows ROM. I am sure Windows mobile fans all over the world with enough cash will be streaming to the doors, banging and calling out "Please take my money!"

Highly doubt it. They pulled out of the Windows scene and have made a deep dive into Android. That said, it's not impossible for them to go back, but just very unlikely that they will.

Nokia Corporation isn't making cellular phones any more. They, like Polaroid (cameras), signed a licensing agreement for their "name" to another company to use, and the other company (HMD?) will put the "Nokia" brand label on the (cell phone) products they make. Research Polaroid Corporation for a similar story. Very interesting.

Should we all try to kneel down in front of HMD and beg? Do you think that will help? :-)
