I've got three family members who are excited for this phone. Still hoping for a Nov 7 release date, but AT&T is still totally silent and Nov 7 is 4 days from now. Hurry up guys!

That's OK, I want the black one. The $449 no-contract price sucks, though. Oh well. Guess I spoke about 10 minutes too soon, haha.

$449 off contract? That does it for me, after 4 years of working in the WP ecosystem (from WP7), I've had it. This is absurdly overpriced for this phone. This is only $50 shy of the LG G3 (an actual flagship device). This is so unfortunate and just flat out depressing. I don't understand it--not when there are obviously more competitive alternatives at much lower prices. The camera is great, but it's not great enough to be worth a $150-$200 premium.

Their official press photos and the only official video of it that they released. No sign of the silver variant anywhere.

Wow $150-$200? That's a new low

Yep. It's totally worth a $100 premium over, say, the Moto G. It's not $200 better though. That's just my opinion. I personally feel like they must've rolled the Fitbit price into the $449. $350 off contract seems like a more reasonable price point.

Well $300 was what I was expecting, for that price an AT&T unlocked 1520 in mint condition is looking better IMO. Throw in some engineering skills and one can get Qi wireless on it. If the price doesn't fall in the next few months then I guess 1520 would be it for me .I still don't know if the massive size would work for me, or the screen sensitivity issues...dam* these carriers are making it hard for everyone. Next time I see a 830 prototype I am going to buy it right away unlike last time

yeah, the 1520 is only $50 more unlocked at the moment. It's $499 brand new--even better if you find a nice used one. I don't understand the value proposition of the L830 at $449.

I hear ya, and I agree it's overpriced (predicted $349 off contract), but the 1520 is also a bit bug-ridden and over-sized. Believe it or not, multiple people in this forum sold their 1520 in favor of an 830, including myself. Tried the 830 for several weeks before making my final decision. No regrets.

I hope you reconsider your decision to stop developing for WP :)
