Sadly the Lumia 810 won't be getting the newest firmware (black). Which then brings the question of will it be compatible with any new O/S updates down the road.

As for those who say we disgruntled 810 users are delusional and that 'all' WP users will get all updates, accdg. to another user here in WPCentral, this has been confirmed by a T-Mobile rep with a document stating why, but would not divulge that info (so much BS). So I suppose the Black update really is not available for Lumia 810.

Will consider upgrading to a factory unlocked 1020 (or a newer version) sometime later this year or when this phone dies (should that really happen, lol) whichever comes first.

Lastly, before we go around saying I'm/we're jumping to conclusions and picking a fight, we're just making it clear that the release of the update all depends on the carrier should the phone be a carrier variant. The only way around would be via dev unlock/preview. We're concluding this non-updatability from sources/availability listings just as everyone else is concluding otherwise from other sources. That's the info that we have... Believe me, I/we would so love to be proven wrong.
I'm happy for users of other models though, great news for them.

Hehehe, luckily I bought my 925 as an import (Carrier CV gb). I don't think I would ever get an update if my phone was locked into 2degrees

I think this will be only for the 1GB ram devices, not sure of the 520 can be upgradeable to 8.1

it is for all devices. Save apps to SD card is targeted at 512mb devices.

When I bought the phone I paid much Money and now even the 520 has some of these updates and my phone doesn't.

You can't get the black update because it's Lumia exclusive, it's a Nokia firmware update that won't be able to run on your HTC 8X, you only receive OS updates (from Microsoft such as GDR2 and GDR3), while Lumias get both firmware updates (from Nokia such as Amber and Black) and OS updates (from Microsoft).

But Nokia has been bought by Microsoft and all the Nokia Corporation apps are MS apps that should come to all WP devices.

Do you want to update your phone to the Developer Preview of 8.1 do you mean?
