Dell Venue 8 Pro/New Windows 10 install -- why doesn't my screen brightness adjust?

The install went smoothly, using the free update on a USB drive, I updated the BIOS to the latest version and added a recommended driver.

What I can't do, is adjust the screen brightness. There used to be an infinite setting for screen brightness in settings. Now it's a 25%/50%75%/100% setting. But when I adjust that setting, the screen just stays at 100% brightness. Is there a driver or update that I'm missing here?

Go to diplay settings and uncheck automatic brightness adjustment. That should let you manually control the brightness.

I have the same problem as youOP, I've done a clean install awhile back and I can't adjust the brightness at all. I've done multiple installs, enabled the basic display drivers and still nothing
