Yes, "might", experience with Microsoft is that software improvements aren't accompanied by firmware improvements.

I have no issues with either of my 2 1020s. both run flawlessly. Maybe they don't but after coming from the other two offerings available in the mobile os world, the 1020 is a joy. The camera is THE BEST. If I don't get denim, I don't really care. WIN10 will be a great upgrade.

Bugs supposed to be solved by the 3051.50009.1447.0001 FW rolled out ONLY in Finland (since early Dec) are, at least:
a) the freeze bug (Struggling with freezing issues on the Lumia 925 and Lumia 1020? Microsoft will soon release a fix | Windows Central), which happens sometimes and only under specific conditions (so please refrain from stating that mine has no bug, etc.)
b) A geotagging bug: the RAW files are not geotagged since the beginning (when the JPG are).

a) was confirmed by @lumiahelp on Twitter, and Juha Alakarhu told me about b).

Thing is that most "older" device don't have a real bump in FW version (3051.50009.1424.xxx) for the "Denim update", when 925 and 1020 have that .1447. one being tested for 2 months now.

It's boring, because we can get the new OS in a snap (PfD), but not that FW which is supposed to fix the last remaining bugs of our loved device

And if you have already preview for developers, you won't get much more from Denim. It's a kind of joke, but it seems to be a true fact, as no further specific firmware improvements are going to be applied on our devices. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Probably a little wrong.
It will solve some "minor" bugs in P4D
I have a 925 and a 930 both on P4D and a 625 on stock Cyan.
Both 925 and 930 have "difficulty's" to auto connect/disconnect to WiFi.
The 625 has no problems with it.
Recently I got Denim for my 930 and now it also has no connect/disconnect problem anymore.
For my 925 Denim is not realized yet.
But it looks like it that denim still does something additional.

Patrikmore is 99% right, all new features are in the OS for the 1020. Now there is a freeze bug fix in a FW being tested in Finland (3051.50009.1447.0001 vs 3051.50009.1424.00xx right now). I thought it would be the Cyan+ firmware we would received with GDR1 (and the two together being called Denim update), but @lumiahelp on twitter told me the 1447 is Finland specific, for Finnish instabilities.

To my ears, it's bollocks, as all EU 1020 are RM-875 and all have that freeze bug under specific conditions. So I still believe the 1447 is the FW we are all expecting (stability improvement, etc.) And so far, no 1020 has received Denim, except the O2 branded ones, but with an old GDR1 and no FW change.

I hope this extra delay is because of a new firmware (not "Denim", but an improved Cyan) is in the works. For 520s, only the last block of the FW version was incremented. For the 1020, it could be that third block (1424 to 1447), which would mean more changes (but not drastic enough to create a new branch, like on the 930).

Hi guys!
Having a problem with my Lumia 1020. Basically, it keeps freezing and lagging when I open mostly third-party apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Lumia Camera, Xbox Music etc. It kind of hangs and is stuck during the splash screen for about 5-6 seconds, or sometimes more.
Now I feel I would like to re-flash my phone.

My current phone OS version is: 8.10.14.219.341
Current Firmware revision number: 3051.50009.1451.1001

My phone belongs to Vietnam, and according to Microsoft’s Availability in Asia Pacific page the following version is the latest to my phone:
Denim - 8.10.14234.375 - 3051.50009.1451.1001
But I can’t see any Over-The-Air updates on my phone, so deiced to try via Nokia Software Updater shows the current update is lower than on Microsoft’s Availability in Asia Pacific page.

So, is there a way to get the latest firmware from some other sources? Or is it NSU bug and shall I go ahead and flash?
