Denim or not on preview for developers

Actually, such wide spread suggests that this is maybe an intentional behavior but leaves us with the same question: Why? and are we supposed to disable PFD from now on? Any reasonable explanation would be welcome

Another interesting question:
Can anyone with the "real" Denim updated phones, Lumia 930 or 1520(the Icon is on schedule for January) confirm the same behavior with PFD on or off?
If no and Denim is shown even with PFD enabled on those phones that probably means we are receiving slightly changed and rebranded Cyan version which is(only suggestion) the cause for extras+info "confusion". I don`t think that the suggested/rumored theory of extras+info checking the OS version only is a possible explanation, very low probability for that one in my opinion

The Denim firmware is the same as the Cyan firmware. The glitch does not happen on 8.1 devices (no matter how you got to 8.1). It is only triggered by being on 8.1.1. The only difference for denim on most devices is the OS version and not the firmware.

How long do we really think that old phones are going to be able to be updated to firmware revisions that are designed for phones with newer hardware? I have a Nokia 920 that until now has been able to take advantage of every thing that has been released for the WP os. I can't think of anything that the Denim update will allow my phone to do that it can't do now. Unless you have a phone with a Snapdragon 800 then you are in the same boat. I bought this flagship device right after it came out ( first released on November 2, 2012. It has a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait CPU and a 4.5" IPS TFT LCD display, as well as a high-sensitivity capacitive touchscreen} 2 years is a long time in the Tech timeline and it is now time for a new device, the only problem is that the only devices that are being offered with the top end hardware are the 930 and 1520 ...both of which are over a year old...so I will just have to enjoy the awesomeness of my phone as is and ignore all the update madness over Denim

Denim is the firmware not the OS, MS just decided to release both at the same time. Yes that version is the latest PfD OS version. The Denim version is 3058.50000.1425.0005. Have a look at Settings >> About >> More Information, and you'll see all the version numbers.

Um yes. The firmware build is the exact same because it is. You can check it yourself on the website and compare firmware of say, 520, 625 720 and 1320 devices.
Also, Have a 625 with Denim. No firmware update

(at this i'm Preview for Developer with last update 8.10.14219.341)

After update Denim my firmware revision number: 3058.50000.1425.0002 too
(at this i'm Flashing ROM Lumia Denim ... without Preview for Developer)

On my 735 which has OOB Denim - this issue does NOT occur. As others have commented - I think it just a glitch in PFD or the extras+info app.

You cant use the 735 as an example because that, and the 830, came with Denim and never had anything below

Just uncheck the check box that "roll in the preview for developers program" in the pfd app you installed
