Denim starting roll-out ... very soon (?)

I was looking at the Firmware Update tracker page today, and found out that the layout changed, and now the update information fills the entire page, while before it wasn't. I believe MS did it to be able to add the Denim tracker.

Availability in Europe - Nokia

Does anybody also think we should expect Denim very soon-ish, or am I the only one so paranoid..?

Yes, should be soon if Microsoft wants to finish the rollout before the Christmas holiday. But probably not next week, as they just released a new update with new features for those on the DP.

Why not next week ???its there a problem of releasing update for Dp & afterward denim update...DP its os update not firrmware like denim plus I DONT FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH THAT AT ALL!!!!!!

And we can see why - Cortana herself is worthy of an update like this.

The Lumia 930 has already received the GDR1 update that includes Cortana... Where are the others? It's coming, but we're not expecting Microsoft to release these this year we're afraid, though you should start seeing them push out to Lumia devices in early 2015... Very early - January at present is what's looking likely.

We understand the wait may disappoint some but with so many Lumia devices out there, it's understandably going to take Microsoft some time to ensure these updates offer a smooth and reliable experience for all customers.

What will O2 do?
We're on standby - as soon as Microsoft are ready to send us these updates for testing & approval, we'll get right on it as quickly as possible. As soon as this process is finished, we'll release the update back to Nokia for the final part - pushing it to you guys, our customers.

We'll keep our ears to the ground - once we're aware of a more accurate schedude and have more info on the update, we'll keep you all posted. I'll keep this thread updated with any new info I receive - There's no need to tag me into posts on this thread as it's unlikely we'll have any further info on this update for any other Lumia devices until closer to the time, but I assure you i'll update this with any new info as & when I receive it.

I hope they are wrong because January 2015 sure is later than Q4 2014, the Microsoft promised time frame for Denim.

Microsoft is likely monitoring how the update process goes for people. The past updates suggest that stable updates aren't released just after a DP update. Please don't forget that most people will get the OS update with Denim unless they're on DP.

Not exactly microsoft said denim roll out will first for 930 icon 1520 yet 90% of 930 & 1520 recieved GDR1 ....icon is very unique case but technically is just matter of firmware for this devices but other devices still need the official gdr1 (dp atleast dp for gdr1) to get denim !!!!
& dont confuse people denim mainly for those 3 devices in the 4q other device who know plus lumia camera comes seperatly not include in the update of denim(see the keynote about lumia denim in the event )

Dont believe this crap i worked in carrier in my home land hhhh but i garantee dont believe them its all about business they will lie just so none bother them .... if you have flag ship you will recieve it by the update by end of of 4q but problem is when patiences kills hhhhh

In most parts of the world, telecom operators have no say to whether or not a user receives an update. Unbranded devices get the updates straight from the OEM (MS in this case). So unbranded Lumia phones will most likely get the Denim update along with Lumia Camera v5 before January 2015.

Q4 would be correct and as for the O2 guy, he must be high on CO2 lol.
MS will keep their end of the bargain and release the updates, on cue in comes the carrier to give their 2 bobs worth and send it back to "Nokia" to add firmware and send OTA. by the time that the carriers have done their bit after their big fat Christmas dinner it will be next year.

On that note I still don't understand when the rollout starts, why does the Country variants where the carrier cant **** in have to wait?

Country variants are tested by Microsoft. They're testing both the update process and the software itself. Last time they didn't do enough testing, as shown by the Bitlocker bug.

I'm not trying to confuse anyone. Q4 is the only official timeframe for all phones (see the quoted blog post from few replies above this one). The newest models will obviously get the update first.
