Developer Preview 8.1 Bugs and Defects Thread

Hi guys,
I am a Lumia 920 user..this is my first major bug though I had faced other issues but they where posted here already..
Issue is once the phone is in standby for longer time(I.e. At nite) once I woke it up it takes around 3-5 minutes to respond... Never faced this during day time only when waking the phone after a long standby...

This happened to me as well. Solution: Remove Cortana from live tile and it should solved the issue. Hope this help.

Has anyone else's Photos tile not been displaying synced photos? I sync photos from my PC to my 8S (I rarely take any on the phone itself), but when I set the tile to display all photos, unless I have some in the Favorites section, it just turns completely transparent. Does the tile no longer show synced files in 8.1?

I cant swipe to see the next image in the Facebook app. I have tried hard reset and uninstalled fb/ fbbeta but the problem remains. I'm seriously pissed off.

anyone else experiencing the same issue?

No it doesn't. But it will remove WhatsApp (all apps) if you have it permanently)))

As many others here have reported, I have the Calendar set on the lock screen for "app to show detailed status," and it pretty much never updates. It usually will update when I power the phone off and back on, but even that requires a few moments after unlocking the phone with my PIN.

Otherwise, it's been pretty spiffy for me.

I have a Lumia 720 running the 8.1 Developer's Preview. Now, the problem is, sometimes, be it for multiple WhatsApp messages, a call or whatever requires a ringtone, the ringing goes silent midway. I mean to say, sometimes, when someone calls, the phone starts ringing, then stops ringing by itself. Mind you, the call is still incoming though, it hasn't been disconnected.

I did a hard reset hoping to solve the problem, but that didn't work either.

Anyone else faced this bug?

And only once, a few weeks ago; when I was using headphones, the phone would refuse to lower the volume. If I lower it using the Volume Down button, it would just yank it all the way up again. :/ Are the 2 problems related?

I've tried a Hard Reset, but hasn't changed anything. :/

I had same bugs, but only twice maybe... I haven't seen them again.

This happened to me as well. Solution: Remove Cortana from live tile and it should solved the issue. Hope this help.

Update on Lumia 620 went perfectly, no problems loading all three updates. Most obvious 'bug' is with IE11 which no longer plays videos on some websites. Instead it shows a Source Error message over the vid placeholder. Previous IE version in WP8.0 played the same videos just fine.
On other websites clicking to play a video brings up the 'open' or 'download' dialoque which is irritating but at least selecting Open does play the video on those sites.
Other main issue noticed so far is the battery drains more quickly than before.

Issue seems to have been fixed now with release of 8.1 GDR1 and redesigned IE Video Player.

I was unable to login to skype in my windows phone 8.1 developer preview,I'm using Lumia 820.I get voice commands every time I tap on 'sign in' or 'Need help signing in' .

I removed the Cortana tile and so far, I did not have the problem today. Hopefully, that trend will continue.

Glad to hear that. I'm not sure whether it's related to the outdated drivers or not. Hope Microsoft will fix this asap.

Lumia 920 running Developer Preview 8.1 on AT&T.

Last night I tried enabling Cortana, so I turned on location, allowed Cortana to run in the background, and pinned the live tile to the start screen so I could get news and weather notifications from Cortana. I guess by doing that I no longer got any new notifications from WPCentral app. And there were several new stories this morning which my WPCentral app did not show me in Action Center or on the live tile. And Quiet Hours was not on. So I went back to disabling everything for Cortana and now I got a notification from WPCentral app.

Not sure why this is happening. Pretty much the first bug I've noticed using the WP 8.1 preview.

I've been having a problem opening Music since I updated. I didn't see this on the main list so I thought I'd share.

Lumia 920 AT&T
Steps:
1 open music
2 home button
3 open music

Problem: Sits at a black screen but still has the context menu at the bottom. The only way to get music to resume is to press back or close it by holding back and hitting the 'X' there. I hope I'm not the only one seeing this or that this gets fixed.

My phone likes to randomly shut off and not turn on, it takes a while for the start screen to load up, apps to start, camera and videos to work, and the lag is getting a lot worse from the most recent dev update
