[INFO]Bug: No comma button in keyboard.
Solution: Settings > Keyboard > Advanced > Tick first box on top.[/INFO]

The option is greyed out on my 925. Not sure if that's a bug or if it's expected.

I've noticed that the speaker volume seems to be much quieter after WP 8.1. Alarms and music are much harder to hear, maybe it's related to the new volume controls or maybe I'm crazy.

Does anyone have a solution to my problem as i try to download windows 8.1 preview on to my lumia 920 but the error code 80070435 keeps coming up, even after i turn it off. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks

Hi guys,

I got my 1520 yesterday and the first thing i did was to upgrade to get the full experience of what WP has to offer.

So far i found 2 bugs one of which is talked about here allot.

1) Touch problem, when scrolling sometimes it detects a click and opens what ever i was touching instead of scrolling in the menu or app drawer.
2) I hear cracking noise when i move forward playing music. I only try in spotify and had the speaker on. Seems it works fine using BT headset. Maybe it has something to do when only speaker is on.

I'm loving the phone, its a bit on the large side but man its beautiful, i think i will love it once i get all my apps on it, hopefully i wont miss to many from my iOS/Android world.

I found some bugs

1. Crappy Sound whenever you are opening any music or video app or seeking a video.
2. When In IE, you select open in new tab, it opens the page in new tab but also the previous page opens that link too.
3. Wifi Toggle doesn't work.. Opens the app instead.

On Lumia 1320, no matter what I do, "stream" or play locally, as soon as I click to open the video the Xbox video app crashes. I have already hard resetted once.

In metrotube, when I fast forward or backwards, and the video is done buffering and restarts playing from that point, I hear a enormous LOUD click sound. Just once. Don't know if this is an OS bug or metrotube bug.

Hello all,

dont get afraid of the bugs thats coming after the update, i own a L720 nd i updated it to WP8.1 DP. in the beginning i was facing problems like SD images not accessible, live tiles and lockscreen not updated, etc and many that were listed by wpcentral above but guess wat now these bugs got fixed by themselves. Believe me i dint get any update after tat it got fixed automatically.

and i also found a way to get d missing comma key, jus goto setting->keyboard you will find a button "advanced" below the list of keyboard languages hit it and check the first option which says "show comma key when available nd then u can enjoy it as before.

Hi All,

I have upgraded my Nokia Lumia 1520 to win mobile 8.1 about 1 week ago. I am happy with the available new features. But yet I face some annoying bugz with it.

1. Phone hung often. Restart it using power key also not working properly on such time.
2. Touch screen is horrible. "Swipe" is detected as "Tap" most of the times and it opens unwanted applications ( this happened in 8.0 too)
3. Some times screen does not unlock with the power button. Also cannot lock it using power button.
4. If you double tap on your gallery photo using two fingers, it will zoom the screen, but you can not zoom out it. when u go to home.all the home tiles also zoomed. You can see huge tiles and huge letters. Restart the device is the work around. So much annoying.
5. I use automatic screen brightness. When I go under sunlight, fb photos and chat photos of other users showing in very very high contrast. ( like a negative)
6. Sometime whole screen goes like a negative for 1-3 seconds and back to normal soon.
7. Sometimes wifi or data network does not work. you need to switch it off and on again to make it work.
8. Most of the time Viber, Gmail, Whatsapp, FB chat lag so slow and hung. you cannot save pics sent by whatsapp sometimes. It shows the download icon, but never download.
9. Notification for most of viber chats are receiving about 15mins later of the real chat appear.
10. FB application is not optimized as wished. No integration of "FEELING" option under posting a status. to see some comments, you need to press icons hardly few times to open.
11. Browser shows the web site is loading and completed loading. But still showing a pure white screen. nothing else. This happens often on chrome and internet explorer too.
12. Yes obviously battery life reduced for like 5-6 hours of standby and phone is hot sometimes.
13. As a summary, most of the applications lags, hungs and super slow. Now also my GMAIL app hung and gonna restart the phone :unhappy:

I am a previous Android user and I miss the fast response of Android OS most of the time. But I still love Lumia design , rich look and Cam quality.

Hope the official win mob 8.1 update will give answers to all of the bugz. :smile:

Please share your thoughts if you are also facing these issues.

Today I had another freeze of my 1020 (8.45am) while on the glance screen. This is the third freeze since installing the preview, and so far I have only seen it happen on the glance screen and while on the charger.

Has anyone here had any freezes with WP8.1 when NOT on the glance screen, or when NOT on the charger? I wonder which one does it. For reference, I'm using a carrier unlocked 1020 on Straight Talk.

I have seen some phantom location usage! For instance today with location off, I wasn't connected to my wifi but wifi was on I checked my phone and I saw the location toggle on. What is using my location? And why? This isn't the first time I've seen the location light up without me turning it on, and how can something I have turned off be active?

yes, I had similar issue, but not same.
I've noticed location icon on status bar, then I checked location setting & it wasn't switched on... this happens most of time :straight::straight:

The 1st issue you mentioned is a bug with the OS.
2nd issue- i think you taped the open in New tab button twice.
3rd-the Wi-Fi toggle will switch the Wi-Fi on, but after that when you click to switch off, then it'll take you to the Wi-Fi settings... This is supposedly a feature and not a bug... Strange but true.

I'm having an issue with People Hub "FILTER CONTACTS" setting.

My Hotmail contacts shows up in people hub even after unchecking "Hotmail" in setting. Similar issue with facebook, google and Skype.
No contact shows up when I uncheck all the accounts.

Did not notice this in WP8.

Hi all!

Have an issue with with 8.1 and adding a hidden ssid:-

Under 8.0 I would go to settings -> WiFi -> advanced and add the details there.

In 8.1 I go settings -> WiFi -> MANAGE -> + and am presented with the radio box requiring the ssid for the hidden network.

I enter the correct name but it doesn't connect...

I know the ssid is correct as I've connected a 1020 with 8.0 as a tester.

The offending device also has the details of a hidden ssid, carried over when I updated ( the device is a 1520) and that connects!

The device is an unlocked unbranded UK device.

The hidden ssid is broadcasting because everything in the studio is on it!!!!

Any help would be appreciated!
And I don't want to unhide the ssid for one device - already had that talk with the IT bloke and, well, I just want info about the settings!

Help!!!!

Is any one else have problems with downloaded videos on Xbox Video now? It wont play my offline movie because it says no internet connection, then when I connect, it gives me another error.. I tried re-downloading it

I've found a bug and a fix, I use that loosely, for the camera crashing on the ATIV S. The WiFi signal strength indicator sometimes gets stuck or is really slow to update and fails to update even if I'm sat next to the router, switching WiFi off and back on again fixes it. I also found that lenses seem to work on the ATIV S even though the camera app doesn't work properly.

Audio quality on the Bluetooth commands interface and Nokia Drive voice directions (but not BT media playback) is horrible. It crackles like mad and makes Cortana practically unusable unless Bluetooth is disconnected first. Music and audiobooks playback is fine though. I noticed Cortana having trouble so I had her take a note and then listened to the recording in OneNote, and it sounded terrible like Nokia Drive+ now does over Bluetooth.

I have noticed it again, this time wifi wasn't even on! I also can't find the background tasks menu unless the system notifies me and then I click on go to settings from the notification link. How can something that's supposed to be off randomly get called upon?

I too have notices while I'm using an app, when I try to close it using the swipe down feature I see few other apps running which I haven't even opened. Hope these bugs will be fixed by microsoft soon or maybe will be fixed with OEM release..
