you'll be able to deploy custom apps to your phone. there are no dangers, since these still run in the Sandbox. You're currently limited to 10 apps, the advantages are that these don't need to be approved by Microsoft, so you can test your own apps or even use things that don't go to the marketplace like TimeMe (arnoldvink.com), since it updates every minute.
