Did Facebook change web interface?

The Facebook app on Windows Phone took so long to load i started using the web site instead. It loaded much quicker and worked pretty well. But now the interface seems to look different and is harder to use. Did they switch it for everyone or did they just make it worse for Windows Phone?

The whole layout changed. Instead of icons across the top, there are menu items in text, for instance. I've found out that if I tell the phone browser to use desktop mode, it looks as it did before. Even when the link is m.facebook.com. So it only changed appearance when I tell the 950xl edge browser to use the mobile mode. Generally I DO want you to use it in mobile mode, but Facebook page isn't as useable that way now. Don't know if Facebook is goofing it up just for edge on 950xl or all Windows Phones or for all mobiles.

As mentioned above, the slow FB app has been abandoned by Fb and has not been updated in ages. Not surprising considering the state of W10 mobile.
The web version of Fb has always been my favorite. Until.....
The text on Edge is now so small that my old eyes can't read it on my HP Elite X3.
The menu is scrunched together in a narrow band on top, way too small to make selections with your finger.
It loads only 6 posts on the page and at the bottom it says "Load more stories". Click on that and it will show 6 more posts. The previous 6 posts can not be seen anymore. It acts like Google search where it would show 6 search results and you have to click "Next" to see more on another page. No more scrolling through the posts.
The notifications page is a complete mess in small type font as well.
This is the "m.facebook.com" mobile page and not "www,facebook.com".
I'd like to posts a couple of screenshots. How do I go about that?

Yep, you are seeing the same thing I see. Put the browser in desktop and then it is fine. But what does a non Windows Phone look like. Is this just something that Facebook did to mess with Windows Phone?

Putting Edge in desktop mode does indeed solve the problem but it messes up all other sites.
Basically what it comes down to is that the m.facebook mobile site actually shows the desktop mode whereas the www.facebook desktopsite shows mobile mode.
Somebody got a switch backwards somewhere.

I have this same issue but on Chrome on Android. I get the exact same version of the Facebook website you are getting. Haven't tried on Edge though, but I assume it would work well, as I've tried with Firefox and loads the regular mobile website.
I think this is actually Facebook trying to force users to download their resource-hogging app.
