Did Microsoft miss yet another boat?

They need to release Cortana to other markets with full functionality and then add region centric additions.

Or give more resources to the Cortana Team... as it stands... Microsoft not only have missed the boat when it comes to user interaction, they have been overlapped several times and keep missing the boat on every occassion.

I am not overly keen at this short sightedness from Microsoft.

It's all well and nice to have Cortana analytics but if you cannot interact with her in your region then well it's a rather inefficient monetisation method and in laymen terms an idiotic one.

In order to access your data through Cortana Analytics you would need to interact with her but if you cannot interact with her (due to region inavailability).... :grincry: then how do you access your data in a "natural and productive way" (action)?

Sure there is interaction between the UX of your automated systems but you still have the critical interaction method left to the wayside.

The interaction between Cortana and people, so you are left with an unnatural and unproductive method of interaction.

Obviously a concern for certain businesses would be if Cortana was “listening” all the time in the meeting room. This could be remedied by having speakers with buttons that you could press in order activate Cortana. If a meeting was scheduled and about to start, once the button was pressed, Cortana could simply ask “do you want me to connect you to the pre-scheduled meeting?”

This should be available on other platforms as well, so for instance on my PC, if I turn on and put on my headset, Cortana should ask if I want to connect to the upcoming meeting, you know using that headset for audio and not some other random device...

So to sum up, I definitely agree with those who think Cortana should be (should have been by now) in meeting rooms as well as living rooms. Perhaps the next version of Project Rigel aka. Skype Meeting Room Systems will take Cortana into account... oh, and please bring Cortana to more countries, even if English is not their native language (just throwing it in there for good measure). Happy holidays!
