Didn't get cortana with 8.1 update

I downloaded the new 8.1 update yesterday and was disappointed not to find Cortana on my phone, seems like the best part of the update. Not sure how to proceed.

for 8.1 [not 8.1.1] cortana is for US only, to get her, you need to change you settings to match US, such as language english US, region and country.
