Digital Audio Book simple and convenient player audiobooks. Remembers the current book, the last position in the book, that bookmarks, sleep timer. When using a local server to download you decide how book will look in the player, if in chapter 18, there is a map of caves, just add this map image in the 18th chapter, if the second chapter begins verse, add them to the description of the chapter. Aggregate sound, image and text of literature together.

Why can I not use mp3's uploaded to the phone from PC? I don't want to uplaid 3GB Silmarillion to SkyDrive, only to DL it again to the phone.

This is a technical problem, the playback from medialibrary of phone.
From MSDN documentation:

The BackgroundAudioPlayer can play files only from isolated storage or from a remote URI

Isolated storage can non be placed on microSD card therefore the app can play files only downloded to local isolated storage.
You can upload the book to your device using a local server directly without going through Skydrive.
