Do people buy Surfaces that have a common hardware issue?

My Surface Pro 4 has only used a handful of times but cut off on me and wouldn't turn on. Now it turns on but will do the same. Other then that it's in perfect condition.

It might be on the of the updates that maybe causing it to act all funky, as one of updates (KB4467682) for the Surface Book 2 went awry somewhere causing blue screens...
