Does anyone know how to change the sounds for other notifications?

I figured out the ringtone of course, but I can't seem to find the custom sound for text, email or alarm...

Go under settings --> notifications+ action. Select the app email account you want to change the time for. on this page you should see the option to change the notification tone.

I haven't played with 8.1 all that much, but i think general txts are under the 'Manage App Sounds' for 'Messaging'. Would imagine Email is in there too.

For individual txt tones that's still in the People section for each Contact.

Do you know how to set sound for contact so that this contact always has sound even I set sound to Silent? I remember Symbian or BlackBerry OS (Not BB10) already support this.

Yes that was edit tones for email and messages. To have unique ringtones for each contact, open a contact, click on edit, and you will see an option to edit ringtone.
